We’re guilty of sticking with the same hair cut for years—if it’s not broke, why fix it?—but that can be a little boring. But not everyone has our issue. Paulina, one of our amazing operations associates, is always eyeing new cuts and styles. She’ll be sharing her tress inspiration and tips every other week here via her Hairistocracy column.
Over the past couple weeks, we’ve all had our eyes on Bianca’s new look. I finally sat her down this week to find out what “going natural” is really all about. Read on to get the details on our beautiful girl’s transition!
How long had you been relaxing your hair?
My first relaxer was at age 18—I’ve gotten them on and off since then.When did you stop relaxing your hair and start going natural?
I really kicked off this transition 14 months ago when I made the decision to stop using a relaxer. Since then, I flat ironed my hair weekly, but even cut this out two months ago when I realized my natural curl was being jeopardized by the heat.
